Oct 6 - Oct 7    Completed
Highline Trail Rehabilitation  -  Derrick Trail Rehab and Realignments  -  Payson
This will be the first in a series of weekend and weekday events this fall to complete everything from light maintenance to realignments on the 2.3 mile Derrick Trail leg of the Derrick-Highline-Horton Creek loop. The work site and camping are on FR289 (Zane Grey Highway) east of Payson. SINGLE DAY REGISTRATIONS WELCOME.
At this event we will build a new 1,500 foot alignment from a new trailhead location. Prior to the event, our compact excavator will be used to rough cut the bench and three switchback turning platforms. The new route replaces a discouraging, steep climb and moves the trailhead to a new location. Culvert placement and three switchbacks to build.

Meals provided Saturday evening a Sunday morning. Work ends by 1 pm on Sunday. Developed campground with pit toilets, tables, fire rings and grilss--all in our own exclusive gated community!.

Please view Video #2 on Safety and other videos about trail work at our Training Page.
